The Manifesto

WOMEN | PLASTICS | NETWORK:
The mission and objectives of Women in Plastics Italy

Women in Plastics Italy (WIP-IT) was born from the initiative of a group of women working in the plastics sector, with the aim of enhancing female talent both in society and within the industry.

The mission is based on three key goals:

  1. PROMOTING a culture of inclusivity and social and environmental sustainability;
  2. EDUCATING to improve the perception of plastics by highlighting their most virtuous uses;
  3. ENCOURAGING professional and supportive networks among those who join the Association and embrace its Manifesto.

The charter of values

Women | Plastics | Network: our principles
Women in Plastics Italy commits to:

WOMEN

Promote the role of women in both professional and social contexts by upholding the principles of equal opportunity, freedom, and mutual respect. Priority is given to helping women express their communicative, expressive, and empathetic talents.

PLASTICS

Change the current perception of plastics by highlighting their value and promoting their sustainable uses through communication, education, and outreach.

NETWORK

Encourage members to build constructive relationships based on constant dialogue, self-appreciation, and respect for diversity. Foster intergenerational exchange by opening the industry to younger generations and providing them with guidance and support.

Adherence to the manifesto of Woman in Plastics Italy

By signing this MANIFESTO, all Members undertake to respect the values and principles of the Association and to generate real and pervasive cultural, environmental and social change. Members therefore undertake to:

  • promote a culture of sustainability in order to spread a positive image of plastic, highlighting its essential nature and value;
  • create an inclusive and respectful work environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Enterprises, associations and bodies with legal personality wishing to join the Women in Plastics Italy Association as Supporting Members are required – by defining clear and measurable objectives, gradual and compatible with their own specific characteristics – to endorse the following key points:

  1. promote an inclusive culture and create an environment based on respect, preventing all forms of violence, stereotypes, discrimination or prejudice, including unconscious bias. This means paying particular attention not only to actions but also to the language used within their organisations. To meet and safeguard this objective, the Supporting Member undertakes to regularly organise training and awareness-raising activities, as well as to establish an anonymous system for internal and external reporting of any discrimination;
  2. define fair representation in Governance: undertake to ensure, in their decision-making bodies (Board of Directors and Top Management), fair gender representation and fair treatment;
  3. ensure equal opportunities in the recruitment phase: establish and implement candidate selection procedures that are free from prejudice or discrimination, assessing them exclusively on the basis of skills and merit;
  4. offer equal career opportunities: ensure that every person can access professional growth paths, in line with their ambitions and possibilities;
  5. ensure pay equity: ensure that every person receives fair and appropriate remuneration, in line with their skills and experience and based exclusively on merit. Establish, in accordance with the principles of the applicable National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL), transparent pay policies based on periodic internal evaluations and benchmarking with the market;
  6. develop initiatives to reconcile work and private life: offer employees and collaborators flexible working hours, opportunities for smart working, welfare initiatives and support programmes for families and/or undertake any other initiative aimed at the above-mentioned work–life balance.

Each Member undertakes to promote participation in the life of the Association and to spread the values of Women in Plastics Italy.

Every member is committed to actively participating in Association life and promoting the values of Women in Plastics Italy.
